Wagyu Beef
Originating from Japan, Wagyu cattle are bred for their marbling potential which increases the juiciness, flavour and tenderness of the meat. Cultivate is a new social enterprise addressing many of the issues around our local food supply chain and economy. Cultivate is setting up a market garden on the outskirts of newtown to complement their existing networks of community gardens and school growing sites and run regular training workshops. Working with 60" wide cloth looms and a heavy rug loom, Steve is intrigued by unusual fabric structures and effects and uses modern materials to create double cloths as well as 3 dimensional cloths. The inspiration for Steve's work comes from the rhythm and colours of the changing seasons, music and poetry. Before moving to Sarn, Steve spent 20 years as weave tutor at Middlesex University.
